Ahh damn, I wish I had been able to talk with you while I was making this hahaha. I had so much difficulty coming up with a creative way to end this story. I like your idea so much better. XD it makes more sense to have such a conclusion. This is not an action free of consequences. gahhh regrets! hahahaha

In my opinion, if someone you once loved exits your life (despite the circumstances) it is not something you can ever truly forget. It will always live on in your memory. To to analyze this scene and say that the girl who died is forgotten about, I would say that is an unlikely accusation to make. You NEVER forget.
The story of this AMV was the male character was miserable living in a memory, and it was memory he needed to move on from to live. At the end, her ghost walking away indeed symbolizes him moving on. I think the context of reality, and how memories work, is enough to say he never forgot.
