We also have an event called "Overload" It's a couple hours after the contest where we play a combination of fan-pandering videos (videos that aren't that great but the audience will enjoy) and videos that just barely missed making it into the contest.
The overload is not eligible for prizes but will be shown in the same main events room as the contest.

We try to keep the contest PG-13 and we have a disclaimer that details there will be a bit of swearing but we can't cover everything D:
Videos with curse words such as fuck, ass and bitch can be allowed in but it depends on how many times the word is said and the context.
The judges loved "My Bitches" but due to the fact that it's got "you fucking bitch" said over and over again (and shown in text) in addition to some almost naked scenes of the twins we couldn't let it into the contest no matter how much they wanted to ;___; |

While I personally adore that video, seriously I <3 it long time, I don't have any say on what goes in the contest and what goes in overload. Like I said, it's my job to promote the contest and get amazing entries, then follow up with getting all of the videos ready for the contest by uniforming them.
The contest is decided by a panel of judges. While their votes count towards what goes in the finals for the main contest, they're only able to suggest what they think should go in overload.
The coordinator makes the final say on what's in and out for overload. Overload is geared more towards fan-pandering so if he didn't think it would entertain a wide-variety of fans then that could be why he cut it.
To be honest with you, I couldn't explain half the choices he makes for overload =p But he's a good coordinator and he really supports and fights for the editors. He just has odd taste ;p |

^^;;; Sorry about that bit of confusion. Our staff is overworked and underpaid (Meaning we don't get paid anything lol)
I really want to thank this community for helping us make 2011 one Nan Desu Kan's very best contests!
For me personally, it was the strongest contest I've EVER seen.
The coordinator Scottanime usually sends out all Asukas and the special video game award within about a week or two of the contest.
So once more, congratz to all the winners and finalists! You guys are all amazing and we can't wait to see what you have to offer next year!
Ps. Scottanime was talking about some additions to our already kick ass Asukas for upcoming contests and they sound REALLY awesome! So keep up the good work :3 |
