Was that mother fucking Peter Parker in your video?
You've got some insane connections to have that dude show up in your video. I can't believe Kroner is famous. Wow O:

It's been a while since I watched an AMV that was literally nothing but anime intros/endings, damn.
The biggest issues this video suffers from are actually caused by the use of OP/ED footage. The footage in anime OP/ED are usually crazy overanimated, detailed, and pop more than your typical scenes nabbed from the standard episode. EVERYTHING is hyper stylized to it's own anime and since the footage is always very over the top it means that the video doesn't really have the proper pacing and feeling to match when the song comes down. During any of the verses this song is very empty and rather slow so anime girls running around corners clashing with super bright and colorful scenes from an over the top opening sequence just don't feel like they mesh properly.
There is nothing really done to give the video it's own style. Everything clashes and there really isn't dynamic to be found. Even just sticking to a certain color scheme or using OPs/EDs made by the same studio could help things click a bit better. There is some clever and fun little bits of external sync during the chorus sections but I really, really struggled to sit through this with how random and detached everything felt.

Sorry, it just didn't do it for me :

All I'm gonna really say is that if you're required or encouraged to read the comments section to fully grasp what is going on in certain sections of a video then the video isn't doing it's job.
I was able to follow the majority of it since the concept isn't incredibly deep (they went up, now this guy is going down) but some of it was so jumbled it just feels like visual clutter.
No matter how you look at this video it's either just a collection of opposites or trying to be so profound that you're required to do additional reading. Either way, that's just not what I'm looking for in an AMV, sorry :/

It just kinda feels like the song could be swapped and there wouldn't be a difference with how the video comes off.
Like, the editing is solid but the song just adds nothing to it.

Quality issues? Yes.

That feeling when waiting for epic, and just got stretched a scene from the first anime series ... b / o

It's not from the first episode only but it's edited in a way to make it seem like a single fight sequence. The entire series was used.

Video is alright but doesn't do too much to stand out.
But I will say, I'm so god damn happy she finally figured out aspect ratios. This makes my heart smile

I watched this video originally without the English translation and it was mesmerizing. I didn't know why, but I kept coming back to watch it.
Now that I know the lyrics, I love it even more.
Very respect. Much lyric sync. Wow.

I thought that we were done with Weird Al videos (at least using the old songs) back when Anime Eats came out.
I have been proven wrong. I don't know if I'm OK with it or not, but it's a thing and I don'd mind Weird Al. So alrighty then.

This is a really fascinating discussion about song interpretation going on in the comments :D (I'm legitimately excited, you don't see these too often.)

The idea that the main character is viewed as a hero (in the song perspective) is a totally new concept to me.
When the lyrics about friends telling him/her to stay strong come in, I always felt it was more them recognizing the fact that the main character isn't OK but the character them-self doesn't recognize it. All of the lyrics, as I've always understood them, were pointing towards someone who wishes with every bone in their body to be dead and reunited with their loved one, but the fear of suicide (which is said to send you to Hell instead of Heaven where his/her loved one is) is the one thing keeping them from basically pulling the trigger. They desperately want to die, they're living a lie around their friends (who see through it and think they need to move on to someone who is...ya know...not dead) but they're terrified that if they give into these fantasies of being reunited in death, their lover won't actually be there.

However, looking at the song from the standpoint of someone who misses their lover, wants to be reunited, and is struggling with, but winning, the battle to kill themselves to be with them makes the song take on a new life. It gives them more strength and does take on a hero perspective. More like resisting temptation as opposed to longing for it but not having the guts to go through with it.

Very, very interesting. This made my day awesome :D :D :D :D
