A couple of things felt repeated during the video, not a big deal and maybe I only noticed because I watched it a couple of times.

the audience here is way different than your typical audience at an anime convention. It's not that hard to see a video that was successful at cons have a poor reception here, it happens.

At cons you have US viewers, most of them were familiar with the video and song that you were making a parody of, perhaps you got a nostalgia effect on them (reminded of something from their childhood). All those things make a good video for a convention.
Also you have viewers that are less familiar with AMVs (which means that they are also less demaning when it comes to the video) and limited amount of "competitors" that your video is put up against.

Here you have international viewers. The parody concept fails as most of us are not from US and if I didn't read your comment I wouldn't have known that something like that even existed.
So this is already a huge blow to how much we could enjoy the video. But you also have to keep in mind that the audience here watches a lot of AMVs (which means they are more demanding when it comes to the quality of the video) and your "competitors" are the hundreds of comedy videos that have been posted here before. Sorry but compared to those this video is probably below average (for the reasons also explained by Xophilarus)

that's a really good observation, I noticed that after reading the description: "Just one note is to look at the dates, they're purposeful and will help you better understand!"

This detail was important and imho writing a wall of text didn't help (and the fact that most viewers wouldn't pay attention in the first place). But usually keeping things short is much better when you don't want something like this to go unnoticed.

good atmosferic video, definitely one of the few that stands out from the contest so far

the only little complaint that I have is that I wish you made a bit more connections to the lyrics. I realize they are not the easiest to work with but when you did it (like at 0:52) it showed a nice attention to detail.
Other than that some of the "blended images" have a really nice symbolism (like the lone wolf and the mountain) and were really creative but others seemed a bit out of place and without any kind of metaphor or message going on for them.

I don't understand how are we supposed to have empathy towards this character.
You show us a good minute of him acting like the cruelest sadist (whether it's supposed to be just his immagination or not doesn't really matter) , then the old unoriginal clichè of the angelic girl that will save him from himself happens and he switches back to being normal.

I bet the show handles this in a poor way already. But at least they have a lot of time to make you digest these changes in his behaviour.
Here we have 2 minutes of him completely switching personality. the idea I get from this is that his issue is not depression, but schizofrenia

I'm not really into space themed videogames but it looks beautiful and full of action. I wonder if the game is actually as good as it seems from this video

Surely you can't say it's a technical decline

then i don't get the point of criticizing people in this way.. there is nothing positive to take from this, it just drives people (talented ones) away from the amv scene..
this idea of having to meet crazy high expectations every time, being judged poorly when doing something different. Let them do what they prefer without this silliness

"Dn@ starts making a romance video, but he soon trolls Mako with the car accident. Mako's mad at him, but Dn@ would rather make a random action video. Mako points out that if he does make a mindless action video, he'd just get terrible feedback and thus forces Dn@ to make another attempt at a romance video.
This time it's a Dandy x Nisekoi video, it's coming out pretty well, Mako's hyped about it, but Dn@ trolls her once again with the homo kiss.
Now Mako's enraged and Dn@ tells her he isn't able to edit romance videos. Dn@ attempts an alternative route, but Mako doesn't want to collaborate after getting burned twice, so she tries to escape from the PC, at which point Dn@ has to chase after her, until he gets KOd. When he comes back to his senses, Mako has full control of his PC and Dn@ has to put her back in place, and sends her off among the discarded AMV projects, so he can finally edit a random action video like he wanted to. Meanwhile Mako tries to escape from the discarded projects hell and the video ends with Mako succesfully escaping while Dn@ just managed to finish his AMV like he wanted."

even if it's just "retelling" chance is almost nobody from the audience (here but more importantly in the conventions) watched this or even knew anything about it. For those there is no repetition so it's definitely something fresh and enjoyable

sure all the comedic value comes from the source, but I think the author did a good job matching it with this song in the first place and building a nice flow to it (picking the dramatic shogi scene when the song slowed down for example)

Engaging storytelling + a great display of skill from the author = a classic that will be remembered
