Author's comment: This is my entry for AKROSS Con 2010. I wanted to edit a video for this contest, but at the beginning I didn't have any ideas. I like the style of Animatrix - Detective Story, so I decided to edit a clip with this anime. I also try to create a new story and a video that might seem like a thriller. So I decided to use a second anime, cowboy bebop, and after several trials I found a way to make the two anime similar and put them together in one video.

Author's comment: "In the Year 2525" is one of my favourite 60s songs. It always gives me the beautiful retro sci-fi feeling. So one snowy day I decided an AMV of it would be in order. Now I know some people absolutely hate this song, but that hasn't stopped me before. ;) I had the song on one of my hit compilation albums, but sound quality on it wasn't the greatest. There was a lot of noise and at one point a noticeable drop in volume. So I did a little research online, decided to invest a few euros and ordered a CD which included a digitally remastered version of the song. The new version sounds much better than the version I had, although while editing I did notice a spot where digital cleanup had introduced a side effect. Fortunately it's barely audible. Multi-anime videos are always fun to make, since you don't have to keep looking at the same characters all the time. Frequently changing footage is also better able to keep the audience's attention. The only problem was that my hard disk space is somewhat limited. That and I needed to make low quality AVIs for editing. Slow-ass computer, you see. What I did to get around this dilemma was to watch through my DVD collection at 4x to 8x speed, take note of chapter numbers in PowerDVD and rip only the specific parts I thought I could use. Then I made the editing AVIs and deleted the VOBs temporarily. When the time of final export rolled around, I re-ripped the footage according to the notes I had made previously. In the midst of editing I heard about another method for the storage space challenged which is based on saving VirtualDub job queue files. I'll have to try that sometime. I built the whole video around the End of Evangelion segment. I honestly love how that turned out kind of creepy and comedic. I had to restrain myself to not go overboard with teh funnay, and I think I managed to find a good balance. Even though the song sounds very simple and monotonous, it was surprisingly hard to edit to. If you listen closely, you can hear all sorts of rhythm changes and added instruments in every strophe.

Author's comment: Уже некоторое время хотел сделать на этот трек что нибудь... эдакое. Только вот на харде ничего подходящего не наблюдалось. Буквально неделю назад посмотрел самурайских девченок, и решил что это как раз то, что нужно. В результате 72 часов плевания в потолок и 3-ёх с половиной часов работы в редакторе ( на большее меня не хватило, к тому времени, в результате многократного прослушивания данного трека, меня буквально плющило, и запал уже был не тот что вначале xD ) я всё таки сделал что то, и даже приличной (по моим конечно меркам) длины. Приятного просмотра)
Author's comment: Where it begins the madness? Where it ends the reality? Is everything a lie?
We are thinking about knowing the response to these questions and nevertheless we continue having strange nightmares, who want to say to us? Probably want to help us to confront our fears.
Maybe it's very philosophical, but that's part of the reason for the AMV, I like the sarcasm, and the psychological drama, and tried to do something in this video.
My debut in Akross Con 2010 could not be better, I feel motivated to continue improving and amusing myself.

Author's comment: Ох и нелегко мне далось сие сумбурное произведение. Мешала и лень, и всякие там Black Ops'ы и Freejack'и, а под конец я вообще заболел тяжеленной ангиной - пришлось заканчивать клип с 38ью градусами по ночам :D Но да как известно - всем *гхем*, так что... Представляю вашему вниманию глупый, но цветастый эксперимент. Эдакое моё видение "молодёжной" части Дюрарары.

Author's comment: "До чего же странный сон мне приснился… Невероятно яркий и живой, будто все это было наяву, будто бы я действительно отправился выручать прекрасную девушку – призрака и побывал на празднике, куда живым путь закрыт. И мой спутник, не смотря на все свое престранное обличье, не казался мне хоть сколько-нибудь нереальным, ровно как и мой кот, что вдруг заговорил. И разъяренные крики тех, кто гнался за нами сквозь ночной лес, тех, чей покой я нарушил, разорвав барьер и освободив девушку, пугали меня до ужаса…Как-то так… Не знаю… Рассказчик из меня не очень хороший, зато рисую я вроде неплохо, так что лучше попробую все это показать."
Проанализировав уже полученные отзывы, решил сразу же ответить на ряд комментариев, которые вполне могут появиться и здесь: Во-первых, я не знаю почему именно эта работа заняла первое место в общем зачете или взяла лучшую романтику вместо (ваш вариант), так что большая просьба не высказывать лишний раз свое негодование или упреки по этому поводу. Моей вины в том, что случилось нет, а читать в сорок восьмой раз одно и то же было бы неприятно. Во-вторых, клип делался не ради эффектов и совсем не для того, чтобы показать какой я крутой и т.п., но, если кому-то будет угодно думать иначе, я не настаиваю. И в третьих, нет, он бегает не от кабанов.
