Okay guys we got to rap some poke'mo...anime characters? Its your favorite original poke'rap but with Anime Characters to represent them. There are 71 animes in this AMV. This was just one of those ideas I had and started thinking well this character could represent this pokemon if they existed in that world. And over time the idea kept growing. So after talking with my studio partner Glory Questor about some ideas we worked on this video. I needed his help because he had some ideas that I just could not come up with initially. This project took about 3 months to finish with finding all the source footage / getting from the DVD / Blu-Ray on to the computer. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we had making it.

the audience here is way different than your typical audience at an anime convention. It's not that hard to see a video that was successful at cons have a poor reception here, it happens.
At cons you have US viewers, most of them were familiar with the video and song that you were making a parody of, perhaps you got a nostalgia effect on them (reminded of something from their childhood). All those things make a good video for a convention.
Also you have viewers that are less familiar with AMVs (which means that they are also less demaning when it comes to the video) and limited amount of "competitors" that your video is put up against.
Here you have international viewers. The parody concept fails as most of us are not from US and if I didn't read your comment I wouldn't have known that something like that even existed.
So this is already a huge blow to how much we could enjoy the video. But you also have to keep in mind that the audience here watches a lot of AMVs (which means they are more demanding when it comes to the quality of the video) and your "competitors" are the hundreds of comedy videos that have been posted here before. Sorry but compared to those this video is probably below average (for the reasons also explained by Xophilarus)
What I really wanted was honest feedback and if there is negative stuff just please explain.
As a editor myself if I have something negative to say I usually list an example and explain why ai didn't like something or did not get it. Just so the editor has a better understanding where I am coming from.
Now i think original is much better. I want to rewatch it. But not your video, where you just replaced pokemon with characters from different anime with similar names or alike colors of exterior. It's not funny. Bad idea.

This is the link to the original rap that was done here I guess for the US release. I don't know if the rest of the world had this or not.
Try playing the videos side by side and 80-90% of it is a direct parody of the original video.

It's suppose to be a Parody of the original video. Maybe people don't get that concept these days, I'm not sure what it is. This is exactly how the original Poke'rap was done back in 1999. Maybe now I'm just dating myself because I remember the original video.
No problem, I'm just not use to this type of feedback after the big convention success it has had. Comedy is a hard category to tap into.

Hey Kisagi thanks man Glory Questor and I appreciate it. I don't get all the negative feedback, sure I'm still working on cleaning up some footage as I'm still using older stuff that has not been remastered yet.
I mean seriously it is a 6 time award winning comedy video.
