Uploader's Comments: I always had a lot of respect for this video since the editor was very dedicated when it came to capturing her own footage. This was from a time when the only things from Kingdom Hearts that you'd see where the cinematics from the beginning and end of the game, but Jasper-isis beat the game multiple times (sometimes with the help of her brother) and unlocked every weapon and item just for the sake of being able to edit with the footage. It's rare to see dedication like that nowadays and a lot of GMVs don't use more than the trailers posted online. It's nice to show respect to those that go the extra mile.
Author's Comments: The typical Kingdom Hearts amv uses maybe 3% of all "amvable" video footage from the game. But it was the entire Kingdom Hearts that I fell in love with, not just its opening and ending movies. So I set out to create a tribute video that would, in my eyes, do the game justice.
I wanted to really capture the spirit of the game in this video. It is meant to be every bit as colorful, gratuitous, and shamelessly fun as the game itself. If you are a Kingdom Hearts fan, I hope you will love this video. If you are not, then I hope that I have made it accessible enough for you to enjoy it still.
To create this amv, I replayed the game over the course of four months, capturing all the cutscenes via a line-in to a digital camcorder. My goal was to showcase a bit of every keyblade and every world in this video, so I switched weapons often to get the best footage. Organizing and cleaning up the footage took about another month, after which I finally sat down to edit.
This project would not have happened if I hadn't been stumped about what to give krzT for her 18th birthday this spring. I am, of course, a total procrastinator, so now I'm releasing this as a very belated present on krzT's half-birthday. One of the two easter eggs in this amv relates to this purpose. See if you can find the other!
