Nice effort, you tried to squeeze alot into one video and but in the end nothing memorable or epic came out of it because it lacks identity, something to set it apart, feels like you did 4 AMVs and packed everything into one.
I would ask why use AMVSimple, Zarx264gui, VirtualDub in the same video, but as you said:

This video is very well made, no doubt about it, alas it feels like just another epic crossover... there are tons of them already so it's really hard for me to appreciate the work put into this, it also resonates with that " Oscar bait " feel.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.. but no need to be that obsequious about it.

Not bad at all for a first video ( I think it's your first, just peeked at your vids on AMVnews ), some interesting internal sync here and there even if they are jump cuts, would suggest avoiding lip-flapping as well (that's having characters talking on screen when there's no voice/lyrics/anything to justify it) .
I'm curious for your next videos, I'm sure you'll do more and better.
