This year we had an absolutely incredible turnout with over 300+ entries from all over the world. We are absolutely blown away by the love and support shown and really can't thank you enough. <3

That being said, there is only 1 Main Contest and 1 Overload Event, which means that not all videos can be shown over the course of next weekend. You have no idea how hard judging was this year as this wasn't just a case of pure quantity but quality. Even after going through the lists over and over again, I can't help but feel both sad and excited. Excited because the line up for both events are absolutely phenomenal but sad because I know how many other amazing videos I'd love to see showcased alongside what we have. Basically, we're drowning in top tier AMVs and there literally isn't enough time to play them all.

If your name is not on either of those lists, or perhaps you're not on the list you were hoping for, I'm so sorry <3 As an editor myself please know I've been in your shoes many, many times. This does not mean you are lesser and this does not mean you are a bad editor. We know that Nan Desu Kan can be an incredibly tough contest to get into, but we don't ever want to discourage you from trying. Please know that we see you, we want you to succeed, and every time you climb that ladder and get closer we are hyped as hell for you. Pretty sure that's the correct terminology, at least. So if this wasn't your year, then we can't wait to see you make next year, your year.

With that said, congratulations to our Finalists and Overload editors! You fought hard in an incredible battle just to get to this point and we can't wait to see how things play out at the convention!
