Hello, this is my introduction video for the website as I am new here. The project was created for the AMV Cuba Runner Contest 2023. Originally, it was supposed to be a collaborative project of about 4 minutes, but my partner encountered production issues, so we had to abandon that idea. I ended up reducing the video to half in order to develop a second part at a later time.

The story goes like this: In the current world, everyone is very happy and enjoying great joy, but an interdimensional villain with a thirst for power performs a kind of spell that takes control of the minds of the main characters and uses them to destroy the earth. Fin XDDDDD

Hello. I usually produce amv and mad in Japan.
This is my first time to participate in the BIG CONTEST, so I am very nervous.
The concept of this video is "Tsunagi (connection).
I found out from a translation site that the word "Takeover" in the song title means "take over" when translated into Japanese, so I used this song to express how various animations take over the power of other animations, or to create a video in which the movements of the animations are connected.
We did not just connect many different types of animations, but also created new scenes by merging animations with each other to create a chaotic atmosphere.
We also expressed the inheritance of powers used by other animations by merging animations with each other.

Что, если бы верным врагом военного гения Райнхарда фон Лоэнграмма была женщина? Ян Вэньлин, с которой он дружил в детстве, была вынуждена бежать в Альянс, и друзья оказались надолго разлучены войной - пока не встретились на поле боя как враги.
Действие истории происходит после заключения мира. Райнхард и Вэньлин - союзники, а Альянс теперь Нойеланд, автономия в составе Империи. Но мир не всегда означает отсутствие проблем и счастливую жизнь.
P.S.: параллельно основной истории развивается линия воспоминаний героев о детстве и об утраченных юношеских иллюзиях.

This is my own interpretation of Robert W. Chambers short story collection "The King In Yellow" from 1895. It is heavily influenced by story and art of H.P. Lovecraft, the pen and paper Call of Cthulhu by Chaosium Inc and the Arkham Horror board and card game franchise by Fantasy Flight Games.
The original mythos goes as follows: There is a cursed theater play called "The King In Yellow". Everybody reading the play starts decending into madness. The reader gets visions of Hastur (The King In Yellow), the lake Hali and Carcosa (the damned city). The blessed reader also receives visions of The Yellow Sign. Those seeing it are chosen to preapre the kings decent onto our planet.
My video is based on those stories. It's a fanfiction. I'm well aware that this is extremly niche. However I hope that I can reach many fans of the original stories and I had a lot of fun creating this video and craming in as many references as possible. This is packed on with messages and easter eggs. I still believe this is an enjoyable horror video to people not knowing of the original mythos and maybe I can inspire some people to read the stories. I can especially recommend "The King In Yellow" by Robert W. Chambers and the Cthulhu Mythos by H.P. Lovecraft.

Technical note:
Most storytelling is done by mixing the main anime "Mahō Tsukai no Yome" with "Shoujo Kakumei Utena: Adolescence Mokushiroku". There are some support scenes from other anime as well. Additional material ranges from original 3D, original book cover art, fan art and supportive stock videos. Most scenes are done with compositions in After Affects. Adobe's brand new Photoshop neural filters, machine learning and AI effects played a huge role in pulling that video off.

This is a custom extended version of the song. It is lengthed with Adobe Premiere Pro Beta's latest remix tools in Essential Sounds. The crackling in the music is itential by the musical artist and is no encoding error.

This video placed 9th at TOS Contest 2021 storytelling and 6th at the creativity category. Which makes me quiet proud of it!

There is actually nothing to say about this AMV. Let me tell you something about modern metropolis instead.

The modern metropolis is a strange living organism. It grows. It sucks people into it. It lures them with opportunities and excitement. Its chaos hold together by a strange order and rhythm. In this cycle day and night fade together. To be awake or to sleep doesn't matter. Everything is running and up all the time. New technologies creep in and flip your life upside down. You've been to a place yesterday and now there is a new hive of apartments, offices and living quarters. The metropolis hunger drew it out from seemingly nowhere. Art installations break you up in your routine and attack your senses like guerrilla warriors. Some try to escape their dream day like state. However daily life has a tight grip on them. The sense of loneliness and sadness keeps creeping in, while you are surrounded by masses of anonymous faces, that don't matter to you. Some try to break free from the repetition and succeed. They got enough money to flee to rural areas or distant lose suburbs. Either you are a part of the monster, or you run and never come back.

This is the 21st Century Metropolis.

On a personal note: This is heavily inspired to my trips to the sprawls of Tokyo and Osaka. Those who were there, might understand my feelings. It calls to me again. After years of Covid I'm eager to go again.

Technical notes: This is a wild mix of anime, live action, stock material, found footage, fotos and 3D graphics. All held together by a colour scheme and pixelart. This took a lot of time, with a lot of long breaks and a complete overhaul. However, when I see the result, I don't want this any other way. I can't believe I indulged this madness and finished it!

This is an hommage to 1950s black and white kaiju movies like the black and white Godzilla movies.

Behind the scene notes:
Between my gf and me there is a joke: "Is there a squirrel in your video? No? Than it sucks!" ... Let's turn this around and put squirrels in this. Not just squirrels, but our favourite plushies that we love so much. So I got her a greenscreen morphsuite and put her into the professional greenscreen studio at my workplace. It's an idea, that I thought about pulling of at last year's YuniCon convention.

Technical notes:
This was filmed with a Sony FX6. Some parts are even in 120fps 4k, but I don't think there was a visible benefit to it to be honest. Some assets like smokeclouds were created with Stable Diffusion and Midjourney AI. The reason is that, even if you pay for stock footage like Envato Elements, these kind assets are harder to come by than I would have thought. So why not generate them by myself and increase my AI skills too?
The video editing was smooth and fast. The cut was done in less than 8 hours. Most time took scene searching and of course the massive compositing work. My gf was so sweet to learn masking and helped me out on so many scenes. Love.
Also I was able to pull off every 42 scenes on sets in less than 42 hours and the vast majority worked out like a charm in post. This makes me quite proud.
