It's the first time I ever do a GIF for a video. I started this video right after the completion of I Loved You More. Although I wanted to give up with the making of this video I'm satisfied I completed it since I wasnt sure if a combination like this could work since Olympia Kyklos is a Stop Motion serie and it's also my first time editing with this kind of footage.

There are some references to other series during the video in case you notice them.

Finished this thing in about two days. When I started, it was just going to be a quickly put together thing, but I actually really liked how it was coming together. Spent a little bit more time on it and am quite please with the results. It's still a simple edit overall, but I'm quite fond of it.

This is one of my oldest amv ideas that I've been hanging on to ever since I saw this movie a few years back, and my first non-anime AMV. I've been in love with this song for a long time and felt that it had the same vibe as this movie. I made this as a birthday present to the fabulous editor Nekokitkat, with few effects (crossfades and blurring only) using Adobe Premeire CC.

Я долго искал исходник лучшего качества на Puppet Princess - Movie но хрен там лысого, не нашёл.
Лазил по всем сайтам ( сами знаете каким) - но кроме 700 мегоф там не-дают а на не которых и во все = нет.
Ну что-ж поделаешь - пришлось рендерить в таком формате.
По поводу бледа ( да, да - Risen404 знаю, знаю) я её и кодил и перекодил и вырубал и так и этак.
Предлагал печеньку. Водил в кино.
Но она там по чему то = влитая и паршивка - не исчезает.
Ну ладно, пусть будет хоть в таком виде - на ваше обозрение.

This is made for the Reboot IC hosted by AMVNetherlands. We had one week to remaster one of our old AMV's. I always wanted to combine manga, live action and anime for a long time and this was a good excuse to do that now.

I am SO happy this project is finally finished! I have been dying to share it with you guys. I had started working on this already in September 2019. Hard to believe I’d been working on this AMV for almost a year now…. but I took a lot of breaks in between hahaha.

So I’ve been obsessed with this whole “retrowave" comeback trend for awhile now, and I knew I’d eventually want to do a full AMV centered around this theme, but wasn’t quite sure yet how to go about it, and didn’t have a solid idea of what I wanted to do. What ultimately inspired me to start on this video was the work of ReyNeroKun, I think I watched an MEP track that he had done, and I was like YES, this is what I want to do, but on a larger scale. I started trying to watch more like cyberpunk content and movies (like Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell), to get more ideas visually of how I wanted the world of my AMV to look. And A LOT of browsing Pinterest! That’s like my go-to these days for coming up with mood boards, and visuals. Oh and that Panini music video by Lil Naz was also a huge inspiration for this. So yeah, those inspired the overall setting/theme of this AMV.

As far as the context and story, a lot of it was pulled based on what was provided through the scenes of the original anime. I loved how subtly queer it was, without it being an in-your-face, overly sexualized Yuri or whatever, as so often is the case in anime. And I appreciated the complexity of the relationship (or so was my interpretation from the scenes - I did not watch this anime in full). Based on my interpretation, the relationship/sexuality between these two girls is not clearly defined. The lines are blurred, as is sometimes the case in real life, and that is fine. So I really enjoyed exploring the relationship between these two characters, and defining a relationship between them that’s not necessarily lovers, but not “just friends" either. It’s more complex, and that’s what I wanted to portray.

An underlying theme, that plays as the subtext throughout the entire video, is an unavoidable natural disaster, which I feel kinda relates to the mindset we are in right now, although not on an “end-of-the-world” scale. (However, lately it sometimes feels like the end of the world…) When I started this AMV, there was no “coronavirus" yet hahaha, so I had no idea how this context was going to fit into today’s world. I feel bad to release something so gloomy and sad, with everything going on. If nothing else, I hope this can serve as entertainment, and a 3-minute distraction from our currently unpredictable lives right now. I am wishing everyone well-being and safety.

Комментарий автора: Hello everyone, that's my big project I have prepared since 11 months, but tbh I really took much break during a long time sometimes lmfao, but I finally finished it. It was so difficult but honestly I'm so proud. I tried something new for this, with a original concept (I guess ? lmao) trying to combine sport and horror. This is also the AMV that I used for my crows audition and I want to thanks again all the crows members that trusted me and make me join this amazing team ! But also Cream Studio that helped me to have this level today, without joining this studio I think I couldn't have the level that I have today, and thanks all the person who betatested me LOVE YOU SO MUCH !

Gehenna is a proof that (even if some IC AMV are better than contest AMV) if you take your time, it will be amazing. Even if sometimes it's super boring to work on it during 1 year, it paids off ! I'm really proud and I hope you liked it ! Before I watched Kuroko no Basket (2 months before the beginning of the project) I saw Akashi in some KNB AMV, then what I felt is that he has a strange character that could be useful in a horror/psyche AMV especially with his eye power. After I watched the show, it become literally my most favorite character so far, so I tried to make him look cruel but also desperate.

"When the devil wants a soul, he becomes seductive."

Gehenna tells the story about Akashi who lost his first match, he felt humiliated then he goes in the strange dimension where he met a Satan servant that invited him to make a pact with Satan himself to get what he wishes in exchange of his soul. But sometimes, the power you get, ... can't be controled ... and the hatred takes over...
