New video for the French competition organized by Soul's Team. This video is made in 3 days.

The concept of video is "the separation". Despite two people separate from a relationship, exists still a bond and you suffer because this bond is dissolved. The video shows three characters. Araragi Koyomi, the main character who loved Tsubasa Hanekawa, but there was a part in her that he couldn't stand that was bothering him (a part as relationship that you are forced to accept and love) the negative part of Tsubasa Hanekawa. During his reflections, he has understood that leave her it was a mistake. He became overwhelmed from the negative side of the girl. The death of Araragi is just an excuse to represent the pain he experiences during his reflections.

Слушать музыку Виены Тенг - все равно что знакомиться с таинственным незнакомцем. Первая встреча приятна, но узнать удается немного. Ты заинтригован и возвращаешься снова и снова, каждый раз узнавая что-то новое, более сложное. Песня открывается тебе слой за слоем, строка за строкой. И вот когда тебе кажется, что ты точно все понял, ты видишь живое выступление Виены, смотришь, слышишь, осознаешь - и песня снова преображается.
В клипе мне хотелось воссоздать эту таинственность. Песня рассказывает о многих ярких моментах, но не раскрывает контекст, и точно так же мне хотелось поступить с историей - преподнести набросок, не давая ответа на все вопросы.

Xheissy (Novice): This video is my first full AMV and it was created especially for Level Up 2013. I wanted to make a typical drama and sentimental video. In the anime *SPOILER* both Nagisa and Ushio die in the end *SPOILER * leaving Tomoya alone, so I decided to make a combined version of them but with a happy ending in which all the characters stay alive. I tried to show as much as possible their struggle with life and all bad things that happened to them and the way they stayed together to overcome it. My main idea was to follow the lyrics of the song in order to get to this “happy ending”. Let’s say I am still at the beginner’s stage ... getting in the world of editing and I am really grateful that I got the chance to learn from AimoAio and work with her.

AimoAio (Pro): xheissy is a very enthusiastic learner, always willing to try her best and listen to feedback. It was a difficult time because both of us were really busy and rarely had the chance to talk to each other but I’m happy she managed to persevere until the end, well done! The video’s idea is relatively simple but takes a different approach to the original anime’s story, although how it is interpreted is entirely up to the viewer. The video is strongly focused on the mood and atmosphere, so I hope the viewer is able to take this into account and imagine/visualize the emotions brought forth not only by the song but by the scenes that convey such emotion too.

Выписка из комментария автора (перевод): Очень многое послужило источником вдохновения для создания этого клипа. Как-то я посмотрел работу NightPunisher'а "The place between sleep and awake" и решил сделать какой-нибудь необычный клип на  FF8. Примерно в то же время я слушал песню Beloved группы VNV Nation, размышлял над словами и решил переиграть оригинальную историю FF8 в подобном стиле. В ходе работы над клипом первоначальный замысел сильно изменился, каждый раз, как только я начинал работу, приходили новые идеи. Я и сам не знал, к чему все идет, поэтому просто дал себе волю, и вышло то, что вышло.

По иронии судьбы мне досталась песня Coldplay, а я буквально только что закончил другой клип под их песню, для конкурса Project OrgEditor. Но все равно работать было очень здорово! Всегда хотел сделать клип на это аниме, а благодаря песне появилась такая возможность.

This video tells the story of 3 friends united by karuta, but soon separated as they grow up. Now in high school, Chihaya continues to play karuta and hoping that she will meet her friends again, hopefully sooner than later.
I would also like to thank all the people who have convinced me to finish and submit this video, despite of all the excuses I tried to get away with.
