Комментарий автора: Upon watching the TV Series of Black Rock Shooter, I was really impressed by the action scenes and noticed the characters quite often materialized large weapons out of nothing - a weapon of choice basicly. I did have this remix in mind immediately, so the idea was born: A fast paced action video, no more, no less.
Editing is - after 11 years of AMVs - not as much fun as it once used to be, so after forcing myself to edit for two weeks this came out. In the end, investing that amount of time in one is worth it after all. Especially if it helps enriching and wins an AMV contest at the awesome Anime convention in Almelo, Netherlands. That's right, 1st place, winner by editors choice!

Комментарий автора: Before I thought of the idea for this video, a handful of Chop Suey/Eva videos had made their appearance at cons I attended and I didn't find them to be very good. One problem I felt was that it was such an obvious idea to use that combination that they really lacked creativity. 
As I was discussing this with a friend, we thought that if someone wanted to do a video with this song, they could at least try to use anime other than Evangelion. Another anime that dealt with angels, or perhaps, even an anime that didn't have anything to do with angels but related to the song in another way. We mentioned some anime like Angel Sancutary and Earthian.
At this point, I had no intention of making a Chop Suey video, since I didn't really like the song; I just felt like ranting. But then, I jokingly said, "Yeah, or someone could just use Angelic Layer." I wasn't serious since Angelic Layer is a cute shoujo anime and didn't think it matched a hardcore sounding song like Chop Suey. During the next few days, I started thinking about the idea and realized that it could be fun to present Angelic Layer in a manner so that it matched this song.

Комментарий автора: I think to edit this song you either need very cool effects or damn good internal synch. Since I suck at effects I wanted to try how good I can do with internal synch. The song is about dancing... but since anime-girls doesn't have very cool moves I thought I could try it with an action-like anime. And I think thats also fine for this song. Have fun! This video is a remake of my "GO!?!"-AMV. It was quite successfull in the IronChef it participated in back then. But since I wasn't really satisfied with it, I decided, to re-edit it from scratch. Thankfully Nisemonogatari came out in time, so that I could find enough scenes to fill the full song in a (in my opinion) fitting way. In the end, it even won an Award :)

I thought I'd try my hand at an action vid this time around since some of my earlier vids which had action in them were kind of weak and thought it was time to give it another try and see if I could do better. Was going to do a traditional hard-cut-only style of action video but then had some ideas for some special wipes in a few places. But I didn't get too crazy with the roto.
