This video is pretty effects heavy compared to what I normally do. I wanted to really experiment with AE. And I learned how to do a large number of this without overlays and plugins. Took some time and trial and error but I like the end results. And I hope you do too!

Комментарий автора: Dedication is using your 30 minute lunch break (and drinking a meal replacement shake in lieu of actual food) during 10-12 hour work days, 7 days a week over the course of 3 months to work on an AMV because there's just no spare time to do it. I wish I was exaggerating. Why yes, I am burnt out.
And that entire statement goes against everything this song stands for. Irony! =D
Also, If you saw this at any convention, there are some slight differences since I didn't finish this AMV until...well, this week actually :p

This is my entry for Japan expo 2019 hosted by AMV france, I'm so glad to took part in finals, this year the contest had really good videos and I really enjoyed participate in it.
"Queen" was a good project for me, it make me change some things of my classic edit so I learned many things and enjoyed a lot the edit time
I got the 17th place and Im so happy.

Комментарий автора: Hello! For this project, I used a Brazilian song. The language barrier was a worry for me, but I've taken care of an English translation (I'd like to have a Russian one available too, but since I don't know Russian, I'll owe you this one).
Below, I'll be talking about my idea for the AMV, so if you prefer taking your own conclusions first, you can go on to watch it with no problem. The only thing you should know when going into this AMV is that it's not a story per say, so you shouldn't worry about remembering all the characters present in it. Instead, concentrate on what happens around them and how they're affected, and how the song goes into it. You can read the translation here.

Now, what this AMV is about. When working on this, I tried to show the deep connection among the diverse forms of life in our planet, the natural (and supernatural) mysteries of this world and the smallness of human race in face of nature and its age-old wisdom and unpredictability. I planned to use a different song when I decided to run for this contest, but when I realized how perfectly "maré" went with "Mushishi", I had to edit it as soon as possible. After making this association I understood the song much better, so I fell in love with this concept. It's fascinating to me how it goes in a scientific direction at the same time it can go in a spiritual direction. I just hope other people think it's interesting too, haha.

The poem I refer to in the beginning, "Continent's End", is perfect for the concept of this AMV. I recommend that you check it out if you can; the last three stanzas are my favorite (really wish I could've put them into the video, but I hate AMV full with text). Mushishi is the main anime used in this video and if you watched it, I hope you'll be able to see even deeper into the concept. The other ones were mostly visual support, but the "one is all, all is one" philosophy of Fullmetal Alchemist goes really well into this AMV, too (which is why I used that last scene). So, there are a lot of references to the ocean, forest and life within nature in general in this AMV. Quintessence, the title, refers to this: the purest state of life, where we are most basic and most complex.

Alors comme la plupart l'ont vu, malheuresement j'ai pas fini dans les sélectionnés, même si je pense que j'aurais pu, même 26ème je m'en fou...et aux CDC on s'est fait fumé (moi & cross) par le clip take my hand...et donc a la fin que dalle...En plus, a la diffusion j'ai senti que mon clip buggait un peu, genre il était pas assez fluide, c'était un peu lent, et il ya même la scène a 01:28 qu'on voyait pas, genre on avait un écran noir, après sa a repris normal...mais bon vous avez rien vu parce que vous étiez en train de parler...BANDE DE FDP!!! Donc je vous invite a revoir mon clip ( pour ceux qui ne l'ont pas vu avant ) même s'il n'y a rien de sérieux...T_T
Mais après comme ils ont rallongé la deadline, j'étais trop tenté de faire un truc, enfin je voulais juste participer, vu que je l'ai jamais fait avant. Après le gros problème que j'ai eu c'est concernant les sources, genre je voulais mettre plein de nouvelles scènes et tout pour changer des autres clips et NON!C'EST PAS QUE DES OPENINGS!!! Il ya pas mal d'épisodes aussi ( enfin obligé de tricher un peu avec les OP pour un truc vite fait xD, et pour vous dire, genre j'ai même téléchargé 12 episodes pour a la fin ne prendre qu'une scène, celle a 01:21 de ''Haiyore'') et sa c'est qu'un cas...
Du coup j'éditais et en même temps je téléchargeais, enfin j'édit avec ce que j'ai en attendant que le reste vienne , donc c'était un peu le bordel sur la timeline mais a la fin c'est pas si mal...Sinon il ya deux fails dans l'AMV si vous avez pas remarqué ( que j'ai oublié de regler tellement j'étais pressé , j'ai rendu mon clip a 00:05 , le jour de la deadline , enfin retard de 5 min xD , pour vous donner une idée...) :
-Le song cut a 00:17 qui est raté la...enfin je sais pas si sa passe pour vous ou pas mais pour moi non parce que je connais bien la musique et la c'est juste...mais bon lors des previews ( pas la version finale quoi) c'était bon , j'en ai deja montré a pas mal d'entre vous...
-A 02:16 j'ai oublié de mettre le flare sur la deuxième scène ( la meuf qui met un coup d'épee la ) , genre on le voit sur la scène juste avant ( avec le mec blond de Dog Days ) mais pas celle la...
Bref , en fin de compte je suis pas vraiment déçue parce que je savais que mon clip n'irait pas loin , mais en même temps un peu dégoûté parce que si j'avais fait mon VRAI clip , j'aurai certainement eu une bonne place...enfin je pense...et en plus j'ai pas montré mon VRAI niveau...( Même si je suis pas si ouf que ça)
Voila , la j'ai quelques petits projets a finir cet été , après je vous promet qu'il y aurait que des VRAI clips de FDP , plus jamais je refait ça , je vous jure que si jamais je fait un projet comme celui la l'année prochaine je l'envoie même pas...c'est bon j'ai appris ma leçon...vous allez voir , l'année prochaine je vais envoyer un truc ouf , je vais tout fumer ( rigolez bien derrière vos écrans mais vous verrez l'année prochaine...) , bien sûr si je participe hein...:p
J'espère que vous aimerez au moins un peu cette merde...première JE , première VRAI expérience pour moi ( Oui le VRAI est partout) , j'ai beaucoup appris...j'espère que j'en ferai bonne usage.
Dommage José , tu seras fier de moi l'année prochaine...

Я вспоминаю, не радуясь сейчас, что когда-то радовался. Привожу на память прошлую печаль, сейчас не печалясь.
Не испытывая страха, представляю себе как некогда боялся. И припоминаю былую страсть, но теперь уже безстрастно.
Но бывает что все вспоминается на оборот.
Бывшую печаль я вспоминаю с радостью, а порой тоскую по радости, которая прошла уже давно.

No actually, that is what the series is, and it is delightful. But Kyoto animation blessed the series with some very surreal and at times creepily animated scenes that can easily be taken out of context, so I found myself an eerie song and decided to see what I could come up with. Interpret the story any way you want.

Приветствую. Как многие уже успели заметить и лишний раз отвернуть голову от просмотра при виде исходника. Ничего не поделаешь, “придется это терпеть”. Трудно описать всю ту заморочку как это вообще так вышло, так как это совсем не похожа на Romance с Character Profile в привычном понимании. (отмазано)
Всех у кого исходник и трек не вызывает брезгливость, может смотреть спокойно. Всем приятного просмотра.

Комментарий автора (перевод): Клип, который я сделал летом и отправил на Japan Expo 2012, где занял 6 место. Работать над проектом начал в прошлом году, в августе. На период с октября по апрель пришлось прерваться, чтобы закончить Galaxy Bounce 2012. 

Изначально я хотел сделать клип полностью из сцен, где камера приближается к глазам героя, крупным планом, это очень распространенные кадры, такие можно найти во многих аниме. Мне удалось собрать довольно много таких сцен, но пока работал над клипом, понял, что будет сложно свести их вместе, поскольку не во всех подходящая траектория и скорость движения камеры, разная анимация и выражения лиц.  С поправкой на все это вышло, что мне хватит кадров только на минуту видео. Я решил расширить концепт и взять другие сцены, которые часто попадаются в аниме - кадры, где камера кружит вокруг героев, быстрые пролеты вперед, панорамы неба и сцены со свободным падением.
