Bakemono no Ko x The Spectacular Quiet

Story: At a tragically young age, the little boy Ren lost his mother and was to move to his relatives to live with them. Hating the thought he runs away into the streets of Shibuya where he soon meets two bizarre creatures. First a little mouse sharing his love for food and later a wolflike beast going by the name Kumatetsu. He is revealed to have come from the Kingdom of Beasts, where their King seeks out a rightful heir to succeed him. His choices come down to Kumatetsu, lazy, living alone, and the generally much better regarded Iozen, who are to fight for the throne. In the following, Kumatetsu accomodates Ren in his world, teaching him everything about fighting. Iozen does the same with his adopted son Ichirohiko who also comes from the World of Men. When the two Beasts carry out their duel, it is soon gloriously ended by Kumatetsu. Ichirohiko however, suddenly conjures up a blade thrusting it into Kumatetsus back, leaving him motionless and the fight ultimately undecided. Ren immediately wants revenge, but is held back by his little mouse companion. So he goes back to his World to seek out Ichirohiko and fight him for his lost friend. When it comes down to a battle of Life and Death, Ren ultimately realizes he does not want to repeat Ichirohikos act of killing and spares him, reminding himself of all the good things Kumatetsu taught him.
